Adventure Lanka Tours is genuinely concerned about the safety of our travellers, but still feel Sri Lanka is a relatively safe place to visit. However in the interests of our customers we will be routinely updating this page with any events that take place in Sri Lanka. We will also aim at interpreting this information for the benefit of our clients. The page also has links to the Foreign Office website and the Daily Mirror website where news is released as it happens.
All our holidays conform to the British FCO warnings and do not feature any towns or areas expressly mentioned as 'unsafe' in the travel advisory.

The attack on the military targets inside the Yala National Park took place in an area known as Block 2. This area is not normally visited by Tourists. Wildlife tours are usually only in Block 1. Block 1 and Block 2 are separated by a River.
However the park has been closed as a precautionary measure.

Comments:
Anuradhapura is a vast District and the said airbase lies to the North of the A12. Areas to the North are not included in any tours by Adventure Lanka Tours since the FCO specifically advises against such travel.
