Itinerary in Detail
Day 01 : Colombo
On your arrival in Sri Lanka you will be met at the airport by your chauffeur and transferred to Colombo. During the 60 minute journey from the airport you can catch a glimpse of Sri Lankan life.
Throngs of street vendors, tuk-tuks weaving crazily about in traffic, 60 seater busses that always seem come right at you are all part of the sights and sounds that would greet you on your way.
Upon arrival at the Galle Face Hotel, you can rest, relax and recover from jetlag. We will host you to a complimentary dinner in the evening. During this dinner we will answer all your questions regarding the tour and also familiarize you with general information.
Day 02 : Dambulla
After breakfast leave Colombo and travel north to Dambulla. En route visit the Pinnawela elephant orphanage. The orphanage is home to over 60 elephants mostly orphans but also a few adults who have been injured by poachers and the civil conflict.
The elephants are taken for their daily bath at the nearby river. Later in the day the smallest members are bottle fed.
Travelling onwards arrive in Dambulla towards early afternoon. Relax and spend the night in Dambulla
Day 03 – Day 04 : Dambulla
Relax at Dambulla and enjoy the facilities of your boutique hotel. During your stay you may optionally visit Dambulla, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and the Minneriya National Park.
Day 05 – Day 06 : Kandy
Leave Dambulla and proceed to Kandy which was the last ancient capital of Sri Lanka. This bustling town in the hills is our stop for the next two nights. Spend two nights at a beautiful ancestral home.
While in Kandy you may visit the Temple of the tooth, the museum and various other attractions around Kandy.
Day 07 – Day 08 : Hatton
A short drive from Kandy will take you into the heart of hill country and the tea trails. This part of Sri Lanka is probably one of the most beautiful and serene places on the earth. Accommodation for the next two nights will be at a planters bungalow beautifully restored to its former glory.
These villas offer the best in comfort and privacy with discreet butlers at hand to assist you and serve your meals at the dining room, the terrace or the privacy of your suite.
Enjoy long walks along the tea plantations, lounge in the sun, play a game of croquet or simply enjoy a good book in the summer house.
Day 09 – Day 10 : Sinharaja
Travel to Sinharaja the last virgin rain forest of Sri Lanka.
Accommodation will be at a luxurious boutique hotel blending in perfectly with nature while at the same time offering levels of comfort and privacy not imagined.
Activities available at this location include a visit to the Sinharaja Rain Forest which we highly recommend.
Day 11 – 13 : Bentota
Travel to the beach where you will spend three nights at a luxurious beach resort. This small boutique hotel has access to some of Sri Lanka’s best stretches of beach.
The resort itself offers an unmatched level of comfort and privacy with many celebrities being guests here.
Day 14 : Airport
Transfer in good time for your flight home
